They can be used to sleep in order to wait for time to pass and/or recover health. Beds should be placed in a sheltered location, with a floor beneath and with a roof. Too few beds will cause happiness to drop. In order to accommodate settlers, each settlement needs to have a number of beds that are equal to or greater than the number of current inhabitants. They can be found in settlements, pre- War buildings, and in makeshift shelters throughout the Commonwealth. Beds come in a range of styles, from the basic military cot, narrow single beds with post headboards to the standard sized bed with a mattress.
